The T20I World Cup: can your T20I XI win it?
Spin for a nation and a decade, draft eleven T20 internationals, then take them through a World Cup: four group games, a semi-final, and the World XI waiting in the final.

How it works
- Draft. The same draft as the T20I game: six spins, each drawing a nation and a decade, give you eleven picks for fixed spots (two openers, three middle-order batters, a wicketkeeper, two all-rounders or spinners, and three fast bowlers).
- The group. Your XI plays four nations. Three wins take you through, so one slip is allowed. A second defeat and you are out.
- The semi-final. One of the two strongest sides in the game, India and New Zealand. Lose and the run is over.
- The final. The World XI, the same side you face in the T20I series. Win it and you are world champions; win every match and you are unbeaten champions, 6–0.
What decides a match
Every XI, yours and each nation’s, gets a team score from the same ratings as the T20I game: batting, bowling and fielding, built from real career numbers. The gap between the two scores decides the match, with a small element of luck, so a weaker side can sometimes win. The luck is fixed for your XI: the same eleven always meet the same nations and get the same results.
Which nations you meet in the group is drawn for your XI. Draft a different eleven and the draw changes. The ratings are never shown, for you or for any nation, so the picks are your own judgement.
The ten nations
Each nation’s XI is the best side its own T20I players can make in the game, picked by the same rule as our best-XI pages: the strongest players in each position, with one all-rounder. The sides are fixed and are the same for everyone. To judge your own picks, see what a good T20 batting average and a good strike rate look like.

- Afghanistan is not in the game: their matches are missing from the match data we use. Ireland, the Netherlands, Scotland and other teams are not in it either.
- Ball-by-ball records of T20Is start around 2005, so the sides are mostly modern. Players need at least 10 T20Is to be in the game; Rashid Khan, who plays for Afghanistan, is in the World XI.
The World XI, in the final
The side every run has to beat at the end. It does not change from game to game.
